Kleinhaever farm Gotland sheep breeding
A parking space next to the Schafwiese on a small farm near Issum on the Lower Rhine. Sandra and Mario breed Gotland sheep here, a Swedish breed with grey curly fleece. In the mornings they bleat long before anything else happens. In the farm studio you can see what has become of the wool. Sheep cuddling, photo sessions with the animals and a picnic in the meadow can be added to your stay. It's about 19 kilometres to Krefeld, where the Rhine cycle path runs along the water. Otherwise, it's quiet.1

Rhine Cycle Route
The riverside path works as a day trip in either direction, flat and well signposted. Starts in Krefeld, around 19 kilometres from the farm.
Historic swing bridge in Linn
The old swing bridge in Krefeld's Linn district sits beside the castle and cobbled lanes; a short detour that pairs well with a visit to the castle.
Rhine promenade in Uerdingen at the Rheintor
A riverside walkway looking out on freight barges and the Rhine bridge; the stroll for an evening when driving far is not on the plan.
