Butjadingen

In the Orchard

A farm on the Butjadingen peninsula, three kilometers from the North Sea. Two paved pitches, each with its own bathroom and terrace, plus electricity at the plot. In the large garden there are play equipment and benches; those interested can join in milking and feeding. You'll hear the animals in the barn in the morning. After that it stays quiet. Shopping is three kilometers further on, and it's around 46 kilometers to Oldenburg. Bookings are from three nights, and the farm closes in winter.1

Sights in the area1

Wadden Sea National Park

The Wadden Sea off Butjadingen is a UNESCO World Heritage site. At low tide the flats run dry and can be explored on foot, best on a guided mudflat walk.

Oldenburg

The old residence town sits about 46 kilometres away, with its palace, pedestrian streets and state museum. The fallback for days when the coastal wind bites.

Bremen

The town hall, Roland statue and Town Musicians make Bremen a worthwhile day trip inland. The Schnoor quarter with its narrow lanes fills an afternoon.
