Garden on the edge of the forest with a view

A wild garden at the edge of the forest in the Wiehengebirge, above Hüllhorst. The cottage next door is currently being renovated, so you can stay here for now — alone, without neighbors. In the morning, the sun climbs over the mountain ridge, that's the reason to come here. The hosts live five hundred meters down the road and drop by if needed. All around: the Große Torfmoor and the hiking trails at the Nonnenstein. It's about 30 kilometers to Bielefeld. In the evening: just the forest.1

What roadsurfer spots writes

„Until we renovate our old Kotten, the wild garden can be super used for camping.
Directly on the edge of the forest of the Wiehengebirge you have a wonderful view of the sunrise. The spot is idyllic for itself.“

Sights in the area1

Großes Torfmoor

Wide moorland with boardwalks through the reeds and viewing towers; cranes and meadow birds stop over here in spring — one for anyone with binoculars.

Nonnenstein

On the crest of the Wiehengebirge stands the Bismarck tower; from the platform the view reaches far across the Ravensberg country, with trails running along the ridge.

Bielefeld

The nearest larger town, about 30 kilometres away. Native wildlife lives at the Olderdissen animal park, and the neighbouring farmhouse museum shows old Westphalia — the classic for rainy days.
