Camping under oak trees on the farm "Hofglück
A small half-timbered farm in Verl, in the Gütersloh district. The pitch is located by the field, beneath large old oaks — space for one or two campers. No more than that. The long-distance cycle route from Vreden to Höxter passes the farm. Riding a stage through Eastern Westphalia, you get an overnight stop with a power socket here.
Gütersloh
The nearest town, about 11 km away. A pedestrian zone, town park and botanical garden fill a grey afternoon without much of a plan.
Teutoburger Wald
The low mountain range to the northwest, with trails running over the wooded ridges; the larger territory for a full day's hike.
