On the Old Timber Yard
A forest parking area run by Niedersächsische Landesforsten near Duingen, one kilometer off the main road. Those who turn off drive past fields and meadows until, on the final stretch, a few cattle stand on the road. The site lies in the midst of greenery, surrounded by trees, with ground that is partly gravel, partly grass. In the evening, all that remains of the day is the sound of rustling in Duinger Wald. Supplies are fetched in Duingen, two kilometers further on. Designed for self-catering visitors, no facilities. In exchange, peace and quiet. Occasionally a forestry vehicle rolls along the paths.1
