At the wild bath

A meadow with mature trees on the Hahnenkamm, outside a small village near Treuchtlingen. The property isn't visible from the road — you turn off and have the place to yourself. Between the trees stands a wooden hut, with a fire pit beside it; in the evening it smells of smoke and damp grass. Otherwise, silence. If you drive down into the Altmühltal, you'll find the river and wide cycling paths; Ingolstadt is around fifty kilometers away.1

What roadsurfer spots writes

„Wonderful plot with meadow and old trees on the Hahnenkam.
The site is located outside a small village in the middle of a plot of land not visible from the outside. On the property itself there's a fireplace and a wooden hut.“

Sights in the area1

Altmühltal Nature Park

The river meanders past white limestone cliffs and juniper heaths; the Altmühltal cycle path runs flat and mostly along the water, good for a day with kids.

Kratzmühlsee

A swimming lake in the eastern Altmühltal with a shallow shore and a loop trail; the go-to for hot days when the Altmühl runs too low.

Prunn Castle

A medieval hilltop castle on a crag above the Altmühl, far to the east of the valley; a rewarding day out for castle views and a walk down into the valley.

Ingolstadt

The nearest larger town, about fifty kilometres away: an old town on the Danube, the New Castle and the Audi museum for a rainy day.
