Bur-glei-benee, also known as Burgliebenau Castle, is located in a park near the White Elster River and offers a beautiful view of this oxbow lake. The castle was built around 1186 AD on an island that jutted into the river, although it has been rebuilt many times since (most recently by our family). The castle is ideal for families who love being in nature, and offers small cultural events throughout the year! There are many comfortable campsites nearby where you can pitch your tent or set up camp - just bring extra provisions in case it rains, as cold showers are only available at Bur-glei-benee itself. Facilities include toilets that supply hot water from solar panels¹
