The Tollensesee
South of Neubrandenburg lies the Tollensesee — a deep, clear lake whose shores are lined with wooded slopes that extend right down to the water.
Lake Tollensesee extends south of Neubrandenburg in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for around ten kilometers in length. It is a comparatively deep and clear lake whose shores are partly steep and forested, partly flat and reed-covered. At the northern end lies the city of Neubrandenburg with its preserved medieval city wall. Swimming, sailing, fishing and hiking along the shore paths characterize leisure activities at this lake.
