It is home to one of the most beautiful natural areas in Germany and is also known as the "Roof of Bavaria". It has an area of about 1,500 square kilometers and reaches heights of up to 1,800 meters.

Silver Lake

Silver Lake is a beautiful lake in the Habichtswald. It is an hour away from Hercules and is perfect for fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the shore. Come and explore this natural beauty with us!

Hercules Terraces

The Hercules Monument is the tallest statue in Germany and is located at the top of the Habichtswald Forest. It is 8.25 meters high and has a viewing platform that you can reach by climbing 62 meters up into the octagonal base. From here you'll get a view of Kassel like no other!

Alpine path

The Alpine Trail in Habichtswald is an easy, beautiful hike with breathtaking views. You can watch wildlife and enjoy nature while walking through this forest. It's just really great to walk this trail!

High Dörnberg

The Hohe Dörnberg is the highest point in the Habichtswald. From here you can enjoy an incredible view of the Warmetal and its surroundings. You'll find plenty of opportunities to hike, bike or just relax on one of the benches. And if you are looking for something more active, there is always the possibility of climbing!

Aqueduct

This ancient Roman aqueduct was built more than 2000 years ago and still stands today. It is one of the most impressive structures from that time and you can always visit it yourself during your visit to Habichtswald.

Lion Castle

The Lion Castle is an amazing example of romanticism in architecture and design. It is a medieval castle ruin built between 1793 and 1801 as one of the first pseudo-medieval castles in Europe. It is also nestled in the Bergpark above Wilhelmshöhe Castle, which is home to many other beautiful sights such as fountains, statues, ponds and more!

Die Region hat einiges zu bieten! Neben dem Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe mit dem Herkules lädt der Edersee zu einem Ausflug ein. Der Wanderweg „Habichtswaldsteig“ führt unmittelbar am Stellplatz vorbei.  Innerhalb weniger Schritte erreichen Sie herrliche Wälder und die Felder der Region. In Laufnähe befindet sich sowohl die Burgruine Falkenstein wie auch der Hessenturm. Innerhalb von 5 Autominuten oder 15 Minuten mit dem Rad erreichen Sie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten
