The photographs show people from different walks of life sitting on park benches or standing among trees; they simultaneously look openly into space and carefully pose for a shot-whether posed frontally as in model shots gone awry (or perhaps just right) or observed straight on with arms folded defensively across the chest to leave no part unseen-each expression is refreshingly raw yet fully realized because we know where this moment comes from: nowhere but somewhere deep within ourselves¹
