The first time we went camping in our own backyard was so much fun! We pitched a tent and slept under the stars on an air mattress, cooked over a campfire with pots I found at Goodwill, showered outside with cold water from my rain barrel after cooking pasta for dinner. The only downside is that when it rains hard enough to run all over the backyard (which happened), everything gets even wetter than usual because all the dirt is near the ground.¹
