The Biggesee is a reservoir in the Olpe district in the Sauerland, created by damming the Bigge and Lister rivers behind the Biggetalsperre. It is one of the largest dams in Westphalia and serves to supply water and regulate the Ruhr. Wooded mountains rise all around, the shoreline is highly varied and accompanied by hiking and cycling paths. For outdoor activities, the lake offers sailing, swimming and boat trips in the middle of a typical Sauerland landscape.
