A small campsite in Heemskerk, Noord-Holland: space for one tent, two small ones if necessary. Motorhomes aren't welcome here—that's made clear right at the start of the description, and there's not much else to say. So the surroundings take over. To the west stretches the dune belt of Kennemerland all the way to the North Sea, and on mornings you hear gulls calling inland. Alkmaar with its cheese market and Haarlem lie in the same flat countryside, reachable via cycle paths through polders and meadows. Little in the way of activities, plenty of wind.¹
